Since 2009, The University of Tennessee has been providing veterinarians around the world training and practitioner certification in post-operative and post-injury rehabilitation of companion animals. This program has generated global recognition and respect for the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner credential. (CCRP). When first introduced, the program required Veterinarians to leave their practices for up to 6 weeks to participate in the didactic and practical training in order to earn the credential.

At its peak, the onsite training enrolled about 80 practitioners each year. Because of the time requirement on campus, it took most practitioners 2 to 3 years to complete the program.

The University of Tennessee and its program administrator, in a desire to minimize the time required away from the participant’s veterinary practices, turned to Lecticon to streamline the program.

Lecticon developed a learning management system customized to the needs of the program, and together with the course instructors developed content to enable participation in the lectures online and on-demand.

The new accessibility to this already popular CCRP program has nearly tripled annual enrollment, and today most participants complete the course in the year they enrolled.
